Macon State College is seeking applicants for the position of Skilled Trades Mechanic/Electronic Technician. This position is responsible for installing, modifying, maintaining and repairing all alarms and control systems at Macon State facilities. These systems include electrical and electronic control systems, and pneumatic control instrumentation. This position will also perform diagnostic tests on EMCS systems. Additional duties include repairing, replacing and/or installing carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical and complete maintenance in areas of assignment.
The successful candidate will have:
* Three to five years as a general or trades maintenance mechanic
* Thorough journey level knowledge and skill in alarms, control systems, key card systems, and security camera systems
* Journey level skill in maintenance and repair procedures including preventive maintenance, breakdown repair and troubleshooting, construction and fabrication techniques typical in trade
* Knowledge of proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools related to job functions
* Knowledge of building codes, rules and regulations
* Valid Georgia Driver's license and clean MVR
