As a member of the Shared Service Center (SSC) team, the Benefits Specialist position focuses on learning the benefits (employee), quality assurance task, issue resolution, assisting with client implementations, and other special projects. Support mission of SSC to provide efficient and effective services to the institutions of the University System of Georgia. Job Description: • Processes and Support: Maintain, audit and analyze vendor data, enrollments and deductions. Prepare and coordinate data for audits and legal compliance. Liaison for Benefits vendor-employee interaction. Work with Payroll to maintain data integrity and to ensure all timely and accurate benefits processing. Process reports to initiate premiums for all carriers. Assist with the day to day administration issues. • Employee Relations. Research employees’ issues and resolve problems in an effective and timely manner. Provide accurate and up-to-date communication materials. Report and work with employees and carriers on issues and reporting. • Carrier Interaction. Analyze and reconcile carrier accounts. Create and distribute related reports and prepare/process electronic data exchanges into carriers’ online systems. Liaison with carriers to ensure that information is updated accordingly. • Communications. Facilitate meetings and assist with presentations for employees and supervisors. Work with manager to create tools for employees benefits. Perform other duties or special projects as assigned. Minimum Requirements: • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience • 2 years of Benefits/Human Resource customer service experience • Demonstrated working knowledge of benefits plan administration, compliance and systems • Strong Microsoft Office PC experience required • Excellent interpersonal skills • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate both verbal and written • High degree of organizational skills • Detail oriented • Strong analytical skills • Ability to work independently and under pressure • Ability to multi task with attention to detail and emphasis on data integrity
